解法

Subway train with red line exterior stripingでGoogle画像検索すると、Subway in PragueとMetro train passing station at high speedが見つかりました。問題画像と同じ特徴を持つ車両が写っているため、Prague Metroと特定できます。

Prague MetroにはA/B/Cの3路線があります。そのいずれかの終点が答えとなるため、画像から路線、駅、進行方向を特定します。

Prague Metro station wallなどとGoogle画像検索しても、象徴的な円形タイルの駅ばかりが表示され、該当する駅を特定できなかったためこの手法は断念しました。

Prague Metro stationでYouTubeを検索すると、Prague Metroの全駅を撮影した再生リストが見つかりました。駅内装を比較すると、撮影場所はHůrka駅だと特定できます。

Hůrka駅は線路脇の片側が窓になっています。問題画像と動画内の窓の位置を比較すると列車の進行方向が定まり、その方向の終点がZličínだとわかります。

This dumpster is in an alley somewhere, but where?

Where was the photographer standing when they took this photo? Use latitude and longitude in decimal format with three decimals (12.345, -67.890).

解法

ゴミ箱の形状やWAの張り紙から、撮影地がU.S.であると判断できます。また、howard uという落書きから、Howard UniversityがあるWashington D.C.近隣だと推定しました。

路地裏の景色とWashington D.C.をGoogle画像検索し、Instagramの写真を発見しました。Union Marketの路地裏を確認すると、Goof Troopのgraffitiが見つかりました。

さらに、問題の画像に写る特徴的な建物などをAug 2018の過去のGoogle Street Viewで確認しました。写真家の撮影位置を(何度か間違えながら)調整し、最終的に緯度・経度を38.910, -76.998と特定しました。

道路脇の標識から、撮影地がドイツであると判断できます。また、写真中央にはJP STOFFEという店名が見えます。

Google MapsでGermany JP Stoffeと検索すると候補が3件ほど見つかりました。それぞれをGoogle Street Viewで確認したところ、問題の写真と一致したのはFrankfurtにあるJP STOFFE - Frankfurtでした。

Google Mapsで店舗前の通りを確認すると、通りの名前はStiftstraßeです。

Exifを調べたりGoogle画像検索を試したりしましたが、有効な情報は見つかりませんでした。

そこで、画像フォレンジックで定番のForensicallyを使用してError Level Analysisを開くと、画像上空に数字らしきものがぼんやりと見えました。JPEG Qualityを73、Magnifier EnhancementをAuto Contrastに調整すると、428309と読み取れました。

In August of 2022, Bellingcat’s Foeke Postma found himself looking over this beautiful view, complete with a Bellingcat sticker!

But where was this enviable mountaineering adventure taking place?

What is the name of the mountain on which Foeke was standing?

解法

貼られているステッカーをGoogle画像検索すると、AustriaのLinzにあるボルダリングジムDer Steinbockのロゴ、Zillertalの文字、Tyrol, Austriaのブラスバンドのロゴが確認できました。

写真奥には湖が見えます。Google MapsでTyrolやZillertal付近を調べると、Achen Lakeとその南方が写真の風景に近いと推測できます。

Google Earthの3D Viewで周辺の山並みを確認すると、写真と一致する位置を特定できました。

Google Mapsからは山の名称が分からなかったため、"austria mountain name map"などで検索しました。"Austria mountains map"と照合した結果、山はWiedersberger Hornだと確認できました。

画像をGoogle画像検索にかけると、写っている艦船はニミッツ級航空母艦だと分かります。画像中央の艦には69と描かれているため、USS Dwight D. Eisenhowerと特定できます。

Wikipediaの艦船リストと左端の艦を比較すると、艦橋の構造が最も近いのはUSS George H. W. Bushでした。特にメインマストの後ろにある小さいレーダー部分の構造が一致します。

同艦のWikipedia記事から、MMSIは369970663と分かります。

一見すると何の情報も得られない画像ですが、Exifを確認するとGPS情報が残っており、51.1703, -4.6667で撮影されたことが分かります。

Google Mapsでこの座標を検索すると、撮影地点はイギリスのLundy Islandでした。"Lundy island airport icao"で検索すると、Lundy Island AirfieldのICAOコードはEGZVと分かります。

解法

画像には場所を直接特定できる情報がなかったため、写っているいくつかのビルをGoogle画像検索で調べました。右端にある色が特徴的なビルからAirbnbの掲載ページが見つかり、撮影地点がColombiaのBogotáであることが分かりました。

Google Mapsで周辺を確認すると、riderの視線の先にはParque de los Hippiesがあります。

"Parque de los Hippies monument"で検索すると、Julio Flórezの記念碑があることが分かりました。Wikimedia Commonsの胸像写真からも確認できます。

Seattleに候補を絞り、"seattle flamingo zoo"で検索して画像を見ると、Woodland Park Zooのフラミンゴ飼育エリアが見つかりました。木の柵が写る写真とフェンスや池の縁が写る写真を問題画像と比較すると、それぞれの特徴が一致します。

解法

写真中央にある看板をGoogle画像検索にかけたところ、AIモードの回答から文字列がКАЗАН-КУЙГАН АЙЫЛЫとわかり、キルギスのKazan-Kuyganであるとわかります。写真中央に写るボラードも、Plonk ItのKyrgyzstanガイドに掲載されているキルギスの特徴と一致します。

次にGoogle MapsでKazan-Kuyganを検索し、町の中央を南北に走るA365幹線道路のGoogle Street Viewを確認しました。写真に写っているものと同じようにA365から脇道が伸びる場所をいくつか調べると、撮影地点は以下であることが分かりました。

最後に、特定した地点にある建物の施設情報を確認すると、Библиотека/Libraryと登録されていました。
